Why Danceable exists

About Danceable

Social dance runs on heart, not on clean systems… until now.
Social dance runs on heart, not on clean systems. Behind every full class, packed social, or unforgettable festival, there’s someone juggling DMs, spreadsheets, cash boxes, and last-minute changes.

Danceable exists because the people who keep dance culture alive shouldn’t have to run their classes, studios, and events on duct tape.

We’re building a dance-first operating system for independent instructors, adult social-dance studios, and event organizers so they can:
  • Run the business side of their work with less chaos
  • Feel confident and professional without becoming full-time admins
  • Spend more of their energy on teaching, music, floor, and community

From Tango maestro to platform founder

Danceable is led by someone who has lived the realities we’re building for.

Marcelo Solís

World-renowned Tango maestro, dancer, and choreographer

Marcelo was born in Argentina, where the rhythms of Tango are part of everyday life. For more than thirty years, he has immersed himself in Argentine Tango as a dancer, choreographer, and instructor, deeply influenced by his homeland’s rich cultural heritage. His career has taken him across Argentina, the USA, Canada, Europe, and Indonesia, where he has shared his perspective on Tango with countless students.

Marcelo’s teaching emphasizes the symbiotic relationship between music and dance, fostering a deep connection between partners. He views Tango as both a series of steps and a social dance governed by its values and codes. In his classes, improvisation is central. He aims to turn the dance floor into a space of fluid, effortless expression— where technique supports freedom rather than constraining it.

Over decades of teaching, organizing, and collaborating, Marcelo kept seeing the same pattern: the dancing could feel transcendent, but the logistics behind it often felt fragile. Instructors, studios, and organizers were doing serious work with informal systems.

Danceable grew out of that tension: a desire to give the people who make social dance possible tools that respect both the art and the reality of running a business.

“Instructors and organizers deserve tools as thoughtful as the nights they create.”

What we believe

The way we design Danceable is shaped by a handful of simple but strong beliefs.

How that shows up in the product

These beliefs aren’t just words on a page—they guide how we build and how we show up.

01

Dance-first language and flows

We use the words and patterns people actually use in Tango, salsa, bachata, swing, and other scenes—not generic wellness or corporate terms.

02

Start small, then expand

Danceable is intentionally designed to start with one instructor, one night, or one event and grow from there, instead of demanding a risky all-at-once migration.

03

Multi-role by design

From the beginning, the platform is being built for instructors, studios, and organizers together, so collaboration feels natural instead of bolted on later.

04

Honest roadmap, no smoke and mirrors

We’d rather say “this is coming next” than pretend something exists today. What you see on the site reflects what’s real now or clearly committed in the near term.

How to work with us

If you’re an instructor, studio owner, or organizer who sees your own headaches in this story, we’d love to talk.
