Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions from independent instructors, studio owners, and event organizers about what Danceable is, how it works, and how pricing and support actually function.
Product & Features
Danceable is a dance‑first business platform that helps independent instructors, adult social‑dance studios, and event organizers run the business side of social dance in one place. It handles scheduling, bookings, payments, and basic communication so you can spend more time teaching, running nights, and building your scene—and less time juggling DMs, spreadsheets, and apps.
Our launch focus is:
- Independent social‑dance instructors in major metros who teach across studios and venues and want to turn their love of dance into a stable, professional business without drowning in admin
- Adult social‑dance studios that work with independent instructors and need cleaner coordination across rooms, nights, and payouts
- Social‑dance event organizers running socials, workshops, weekenders, and festivals with complex schedules and ticketing
Dancers themselves benefit from clearer schedules and booking flows, but the B2B product is currently focused on instructors, studios, and organizers.
For the MVP and near term, you can:
- Create and manage group classes and private lessons in one schedule
- List those offerings publicly so dancers can discover and book them
- Offer simple passes or class packs for repeat students
- Track students and bookings in one place instead of across chats and notes
- Take payments and see basic revenue summaries
- Use early studio/event tooling for room scheduling and event setup under the same umbrella
We’re deliberately starting with the core workflows that reduce chaos for independent instructors and early studio/event partners.
Danceable is a dance‑first operating system for social‑dance ecosystems:
- For instructors, it feels like a business‑management and booking platform made specifically for independent social‑dance teachers
- For studios, it’s emerging as a dance‑specific studio and ecosystem management platform that connects rooms, instructors, and payouts
- For organizers, it’s a dance‑native event backbone for passes, schedules, and payouts that lives inside the same system as classes and studios
It’s not just a ticketing site, not just a studio CRM, and not a generic events marketplace.
Not necessarily. Many people will:
- Keep using their existing website and social channels
- Use their Danceable profile and schedule as the single source of truth for what’s happening now
- Link to Danceable from their site, Instagram, Facebook, and email so information stays consistent
Think of it as your dance‑specific “backbone” and public schedule that everything else points to.
Yes. Dancers get simple, mobile‑friendly booking and schedule views. They don’t need to become power users or manage complex settings—they just:
- See what’s happening
- Book and pay when that’s enabled
- Get confirmations and reminders so they show up in the right place at the right time
Pricing & Billing
During our early‑adopter phase:
- No monthly subscription fee for independent instructors
- A small platform fee on each student booking, regardless of how the student pays
- When students pay by credit card, a 3.5% credit card processing fee is added on top of the platform fee for that transaction
You only pay when you get bookings. There’s no upfront subscription in the MVP.
For independent instructors:
- 5% per booking is the standard platform fee
- 3.5% per booking is the reduced early‑adopter platform fee
Instructors who join and actively use Danceable during the initial rollout can qualify for the 3.5% early‑adopter rate for a defined period. We’ll walk through the details during your demo and in your onboarding.
Every student booking includes the platform fee.
If the student pays by credit card:
- A 3.5% credit card processing fee is applied on top of the platform fee for that card transaction.
If a student pays another way (e.g., you record cash or a transfer in Danceable), only the platform fee applies.
Studios and event organizers have custom pricing because size and complexity vary a lot.
We look at:
- Number of rooms or nights (for studios)
- Event size, structure, and frequency (for organizers)
- Expected booking volume and payout complexity
Then we craft a plan that:
- Includes a platform fee on bookings
- Adds any necessary payment‑processing fees
- Reflects your actual usage and risk, rather than one flat “fits nobody” rate
Right now, the best way to get a quote is to Request a Demo or Contact Us for Pricing.
Before we change anything:
- Early adopters will get clear notice and options
- We’ll explain how long your reduced rate lasts and what future tiers could look like
- Our intention is to reward the people who help shape Danceable early, not surprise them with hidden changes
Data, Privacy & Ownership
You do.
Danceable’s job is to help you organize and use your data, not to take it away from you. You always:
- Own your student and attendee relationships
- Can export key data on request (subject to privacy and legal requirements)
- Control how and when you invite people into new offerings
No. We’re building an ecosystem where:
- Instructors, studios, and organizers keep ownership of their relationships
- Dancers get clearer information and better experiences
- Danceable acts as infrastructure, not a competing brand trying to steal your audience
Any future dancer‑facing features (like discovery) are designed to support your business, not replace it.
We use modern, cloud‑based infrastructure with:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- Industry‑standard storage and access controls
- Regular backups and monitoring
As we expand to more regions, we’re also planning multi‑region data‑privacy layers and compliance strategies so you won’t have to migrate again as regulations evolve .
Yes. Danceable is being built with a migration‑safe philosophy:
- Clear exports of key business data (classes, student lists, basic financial summaries)
- Transparent handling of waivers and records
- No dark‑pattern lock‑in
If you ever decide to move on, you shouldn’t feel trapped.
Onboarding, Migration & Support
No. In fact, we encourage you not to.
Most people start with:
- One series or a specific set of classes
- Just their privates
- One night or one event
You run that slice in Danceable, keep the rest as‑is, and expand as you see it working. This “start small, expand gradually” pattern is built into how we think about rollout for instructors, studios, and organizers .
For independent instructors, onboarding usually looks like:
- Short discovery call or demo to understand your current setup
- Mirroring your classes and privates inside Danceable
- Helping you invite existing students with clear instructions and expectations
- Running your next series or privates on Danceable while monitoring together
We focus on giving you a quick win, not a giant re‑platforming project.
Danceable is designed for people who run dance businesses, not for software engineers.
- The main flows are simple and repeatable
- We use plain language, not jargon
- You can always reach a human for help, especially as an early adopter
If you can manage your current mix of chats, notes, and apps, you can absolutely use Danceable.
In the early stages, support is very hands‑on:
- Direct access to a small team that actually understands social dance
- Help with setup, troubleshooting, and early questions
- Guidance on rollouts that won’t confuse your students or community
As we grow, we’ll add more structured support channels, but the goal is to keep it human and responsive.
Fit & Differentiation
Generic tools can handle pieces of your work:
- Scheduling 1:1s
- Taking a payment
- Listing a single event
Danceable is built to handle the whole dance‑business picture:
- Group classes, privates, passes, socials, and events in one schedule
- Student and attendee histories in one place
- Shared views across instructors, studios, and organizers
- A roadmap that includes deeper analytics and dancer‑facing discovery, all inside the same ecosystem
You can absolutely keep some generic tools where they make sense; Danceable is there to reduce the chaos, not add to it.
Danceable is Tango‑rooted but social‑dance‑wide by design:
- Tango
- Salsa & bachata
- Swing & blues
- Kizomba and other partner dances
If your world involves lead‑follow roles, rotating partners, socials, and community‑driven nights, Danceable is being built for scenes like yours .
Without over‑promising, the roadmap includes:
- Smarter insights based on your booking and attendance data (e.g., what’s filling, when, and where)
- Deeper studio and event features around payouts and collaboration
- Dancer‑facing discovery tools that stay connected to the systems you already use
We’ll share specifics as features get closer, and we’ll ask early adopters for input along the way.
